Confessions

So, Jorge laughed when I typed "Whetten Familia"- because it SHOULD be "Familia Whetten". However, the majority of people reading it will speak English. Ok, let's be honest- Becky (my only devoted reader) speaks English (and French- she's talented). Just so you all know- I do know it should be the other way around. Spanglish people. It is one thing for me to know I'm dumb, it is quite another for others to think I am. We have language problems in our home anyway. This is Reuben, "Agua!" so I fill his sippy with water...."NO!!! AGUA!" Agua is currently anything liquid, and apparently my translation of agua to water was incorrect. He wanted milk- so I tell him "Reuben, this is milk.....leche." He looks, sippy of milk in hand, big smile..."AGUA!" and runs off to play. Ok, my morning confession: We all sleep in the same room. Yes, we live in a house with 7 bedrooms and the 4 of us sleep in the same room. And I must admit, I kind of like it. I feel safe. We now have Reuben in a toddler bed, and Jace in a crib- and somewhere in the middle of the night we all end up in our bed. I then proceed to take Reuben and Jace to their rightful places, because I cannot sleep with them there- but I am jealous that Jorge can (that is- until Reuben kicks him in the face- has happened!) We're moving in the next month, and we PLAN (key word: plan) to move the boys into their own room then. This way it's moving them together so Reuben doesn't feel kicked out because of Jace. They'll transition together. Wish us luck. We'll need it. My next aspiration: potty training. Let's see- another confession- I want to paint my kitchen red. I know that psychologically speaking red is not the color of calmness, but let's be honest- since when is my kitchen calm?! It's not a circusy red, but a sienna- darker bricktype red. I'm actually quite excited.

Red isn't necessarily calm, but it IS cozy. I think a red kitchen would rock. You don't need soothing pastels in a kitchen. You're not sleeping in there, after all.

I am so glad you sent me your blog info. How fun that we still get to catch up on each other's lives after so many years. Your kids are darling and I love that you miss you husband so much when he leaves. Sometimes I feel so wimpy when I get like that, glad to hear someone else is like that.
Keep up the blogging. It is fun to read. Also, no worries about the same background...there are really only a few to choose from unless you are insanely into blogging and create your own, which I don't have the know how or desire to do.
